He was a\u00a0postdoctoral fellow in the Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of Texas at Austin from 2012-2014 and in the Department of Industrial and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Toronto, Canada, from 2011 to 2012.\u00a0 His research interests\u00a0reside in mainly studying catalytic <span style=\"float: none;background-color: #ffffff;color: #444444;cursor: text;font-family: 'Open Sans',Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;font-size: 14px;font-style: normal;font-variant: normal;font-weight: 400;letter-spacing: normal;text-align: left;text-decoration: none;text-indent: 0px\">CO<\/span><sub>2<\/sub> separation, capture, and utilization at<span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">\u00a0various spatial scales, specifically in <span style=\"float: none;background-color: #ffffff;color: #444444;cursor: text;font-family: 'Open Sans',Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;font-size: 14px;font-style: normal;font-variant: normal;font-weight: 400;letter-spacing: normal;text-align: left;text-decoration: none;text-indent: 0px\">CO<\/span><sub>2<\/sub> capture from flue gas,\u00a0<\/span>enhanced oil recovery (EOR), accelerated microalgae production for biofuel, CO<sub>2<\/sub>-methane (CH<sub>4<\/sub>) interactions, and geologic CO<sub>2<\/sub> sequestration. After receiving his BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Florida Atlantic University, he was enrolled in a BS to Ph.D. direct path program. During his last year of the BS program, he worked as an undergraduate researcher advised by Dr. Kim on multiple projects such as Hydrofracking-on-a-Chip: Particle-Laden Transport under High Pressure and Development of an Expiration System using Microfluidic O2 Diffusion. He received his M.Sc. degree from the University of Tehran (Iran) in 2017. During his master\u2019s studies, he was involved in a number of projects including numerical simulation of energy systems, renewable energy, thermal storage systems and subjects related to the field of energy. His current research interests lie in the fields of thermal management for microelectronic devices. Ratanpara (Abhi) has done his bachelor\u2019s in mechanical engineering from LDRP Institute of Technology, India in 2017. He is currently pursuing his Masters in Thermal Engineering at Nirma University, India. As a part of it, he has been carrying out his research work at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) and he is likely to defend his M.Tech. Dissertation in May 2020. He is a PhD-seeking research intern working in Microfluidics and Energy lab under the esteemed guidance of Dr. Kim (Mike) at FAU. He worked as a graduate research intern on the project based on a &#8216;microfluidic approach of Amine scrubbing using Seawater for CO2 capture\u2019.
