Job Opening \u2026… A Postdoctoral Fellow is Needed<\/em><\/em><\/h6>\n\n\n\n

A postdoctoral fellow is sought to conduct research on Deception-Based Security of IOBT (Internet of Battlefield Things) Networks funded by a DoD grant under the supervision of Prof. Imad Mahgoub in the Department of Computer and Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Florida Atlantic University (FAU).The selected candidate can start immediately. The position is initially for one year, extendable to two more years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Candidates should hold a PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or closely related field, with a background in the following areas: machine learning (transfer and reinforcement learning), security of IoBT and IoT networks, and game theory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Smart platforM for Advancing pRudenT DiscoveRy In Vehicular Environments: The smart-drive initiative is focused on developing a multi-technology IEEE WAVE-compliant vehicular networking platform. Current activities involve research and design of efficient protocols and applications for vehicular networks, big data analytics for incident prediction, and design & development of the Vehicular Multi-technology Communication Device (VMCD) (supported by NSF MRI Grant #1229616) and vehicular network testbed at FAU using both WAVE and cellular data path technologies.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

About Us<\/em><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

The Smart Mobile Computing (SMC) research group is led by Principal Investigator Dr. Imad Mahgoub, the Tecore Endowed Chair Professor, in the College of Engineering and Computer Science. The SMC group conducts research in wireless sensor networking, mobile computing and networking, and their specializations such as vehicular networks, body nets, and supporting applications and platforms. Our research is generously funded by NSF as well as our industry partners and sponsors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tecore Networks has funded the Tecore Networks Lab, home to our researchers and had donated a GSM and CDMA Mobile Switching Center, Cellular Base Station and network ancillaries to be used for training and research projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Smart Drive research team, in conjunction with tkLABS Technology Solutions, has created an IEEE 1609-enabled Vehicular Multi-technology Communication Device (VMCD) and vehicular testbed with capabilities that enable both vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communication (This was supported by NSF MRI Grant #1229616).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
