  • Be exposed to make project decisions affecting the quality control of the survey data established for the project
  • Learn how to be well versed with field note reduction, in-depth plan interpretation and highway construction computations
  • Learn detailed working knowledge of standard field and office procedures

  • Expand your knowledge and usage of GPS, Robotic total stations and Roadway CADD software.
  • Expand your Knowledge on how to operate, check, and perform basic field adjustments on rods, levels, tri-brachs, total stations, robotic total stations, data collectors, tripods, and GPS equipment

Sophomore or junior standing in an accredited land surveying undergraduate or graduate program.

Initially your duties would include assisting the PSM in all areas of surveying including deed/plat research, job setup, drafting, preparing cost estimates and the occasional field work.  GradyMinor expects you to gain experience and sit for your PSM exam.  Upon licensure, you would be directly responsible for survey documents, managing survey technicians, and field crews.  Strong drafting skills are required, with Civil 3D 2011 or higher as the preferred CAD program.  Knowledge of Word, Excel, GPS, and traditional survey practices is also required.

GIS Manager

Responsibilities:

Under general supervision, coordinates and supervises the personnel involved in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the City’s Geographic Information System (GIS); overall responsibility for ensuring development and maintenance of the City’s GIS Strategy/work elements (database, infrastructure, applications, and staff resources).  This position is responsible for assuring that the City’s GIS system is accurate, reliable, and comprehensive; for project oversight, monitoring staff progress towards goals and objectives, advising local government regarding methods and procedures to improve data management and mapping, and assisting with preparation of department budget, recommending capital and operation outlays, and overseeing acquisition and maintenance of GIS hardware and software.  Performs related work as required.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Geography, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Management or a related field and six (6) years of experience in GIS development or any equivalent combination of training and experience.   Two (2) years of supervisory experience, required. GISP certification and/or ESRI Technical Certification are desired.

Must demonstrate skills, progression and working knowledge of modern GIS programs i.e. Arc/Info, ArcView, ArcCatalog, ArcGIS Server, SQL Server 2003/2005/2008/2012, Visual Basic for Applications, Python, and Microsoft currently supported Windows versions.

A valid driver’s license from any state (equivalent to a State of Florida Class E) may be utilized upon application; with the ability to obtain the State of Florida driver’s license within 30 days from day of employment.

The Survey Cad Technician needs to be well versed with AutoCad Civil 3d version 2014. The applicant needs to be experienced with all manners of survey drafting and drawing preparation.

The survey Instrument Person needs to be experienced with the use of survey instruments preferably Topcon total stations and Leica digital levels. The applicant needs to be experienced using GPS/RTK equipment. Preferably Trimble RTK. The applicant needs to have a valid and insurable driver’s license. Applicant needs to be able to travel out of town on an as needed basis.

Surveying Intern

Baseline Engineering and Land Surveying, located right here in Boca Raton, is looking for a highly motivated Geomatics Engineering student to work in their office part time, about 4 days a week from roughly 10 AM to 2 PM.  Some work schedule flexibility available if classes conflict.
